Come and join me for a relaxing day of hand stitching! Learn the art of fabric collage and slow stitch, as we select and arrange small pieces of fabric to build up beautiful little compositions to stitch into. Enjoy discovering how to effectively choose colours, shapes and patterns to make a pleasing arrangement. Cut out shapes and manipulate fabric into little arrangements which take on a life of their own. There is no right or wrong, so you can be led by your intuition in this relaxing workshop, where you can experiment with cutting and tearing fabric and just see what happens! Next enjoy some slow stitching, when we piece together our little scraps, using a variety of simple hand stitches. Suitable for complete beginners, or those with some experience, you can use a variety of repeating stitches to bring together your composition and create a lovely, interesting background. I will show you how to cut out further shapes and add them in, plus all sorts of embellishments such as buttons, beads, ribbons and more. There will be a whole range of interesting fabric scraps to use and experiment with, as well as all sorts of beautiful embellishments for you to use. Expect to make several lovely little compositions, which make perfect greetings card or little pictures - ideal for an unusual gift.
