Creative Textiles Group - monthly meetings 2026

All places for my monthly groups in 2026 are now fully booked, but contact me if you would like to be put on the waiting list.

My ongoing Creative Textiles Groups meet monthly throughout the year and work on a series of exciting embroidery and mixed media projects based around a theme. The theme for 2026 will be "Memories of Home". Throughout the year, we’ll work on a series of projects that have meaning connected to the feelings of comfort, place, people and memories that we call “home”. Incorporating a range of different techniques and with some exciting projects to make, we'll create a series of beautiful small items throughout the year. You'll be with a small friendly group, with a lot of mutual support, encouragement and plenty of one to one tuition.

Projects

I have some lovely and unusual projects planned for us to try out, such as:

  • A hand stitched picture frame

  • A miniature “book in a box”

  • A keepsake envelope and inside “pages” using printed image transfer and stitch

  • A 3-dimensional embroidered box

  • Card making

  • A small Christmas project

Examples of taught technique workshops include experimenting with tyvek and other mixed media, constructing a three dimensional object, making beads and covered buttons, new techniques with gelli printing, hand embroidery and embellishment, printing and marking fabric, fabric collage and more... Experimentation and play is encouraged!

Exhibition in April

In addition to the workshops and projects, you will also have the optional opportunity (alongside last years groups) to exhibit some of your previous work, in the beautiful venue of Denmans Gardens from April 23rd to 25th. Exhibitions are always a positive and exciting thing to do, and this will be a great chance to experience this with the group and to invite your friends and family to admire your work*.

The year will include:

  • 11 monthly meetings which will be a combination of taught workshops or techniques and a chance to discuss and work on your individual projects.

  • The opportunity for a group visit to the Fashion and Textiles Museum in London during August (date to be confirmed)**

  • Join our group exhibition at Denmans Gardens.

  • 10% discount on any further workshops booked with me during 2026.

  • Some materials, plus tea, coffee and biscuits.
