Esther's ongoing Creative Textiles and Embroidery Groups meet monthly throughout the year, with a range of embroidery, surface design and mixed media workshops, which complement a series of exciting stitched textile projects based around a theme.
Past themes have included "the tree of life" and "memories of home" and the theme for 2027 will be "Coastal". Throughout the year, we’ll work on a series of exciting textile projects that are all connected to coastal landscapes and the sea itself. Taught workshops will include printing on fabric, fabric collage, fabric manipulation, hand embroidery, fabric dying, embellishment and lots, lots more!
The year includes:

11 monthly meetings, which will be a combination of exciting taught embroidery and mixed media workshops and project work.

Create a series of beautiful textile pieces, based around a "coastal" theme.

Ongoing support from Esther with the chance to discuss and work on your individual projects, with one to one mentoring, inspiration and advice.

Be part of a friendly and supportive group and gain inspiration from your peers.

The opportunity for a group visit during August.

10% discount on any further workshops booked with Esther during 2027.

Some materials, plus tea, coffee and biscuits.
Dates and venue:
In 2027, meetings will take place in the lovely modern and spacious Nepcote Hall, part of Findon Village Hall, just off the A24 near Worthing, West Sussex.
Thursday Group
Meeting Thursdays 11am to 3.30pm on 21st January, 11th February, 11th March, 15th April, 13th May, 10th June, 8th July, 9th September, 12th October, 11th November, 9th December.
Friday Group
Meeting Fridays 11.30am to 4pm on 29th January, 26th February, 19th March, 23rd April, 21st May, 25th June, 23rd July, 24th September, 22nd October, 19th November, 10th December.
Cost and commitment
A initial deposit of £50 is required to secure your place and a standing order of £65 per month, beginning in January 2027.

Past student work
Every year the work produced by students in Esther's Creative Textiles and Embroidery group is absolutely stunning! Over the course of the year, each person develops their own unique style and way of working, with the opportunity and guidance to take projects in all sorts of different directions, depending on their interests and goals. In 2026, Esther organised a beautiful exhibition of student work at Denmans Garden entitled "the Tree of Life". You can see a gallery of some of the work on display here.
