Course Details

Mixed media charms, beads and brooches Come and join me for this fun and fabulous workshop, experimenting with mixed media to make a range of beautiful and unusual beads, brooches and charms. First, we'll paint, manipulate and heat distress Tyvek fabric to make some gorgeous beads. Build up layers of interesting papers (such as old music score sheets and painted Tyvek), which you will roll together and then alter using heat. Wrap with wires and embellish with more beads, to create some stunning effects. Then let me show you the secrets of foiling onto fabric, to make some "wow!" factor bag charms, or bases for your brooches. Learn how to make stencils for fabric shapes, which can be enhanced with gold, silver or coloured metallic foil with amazing results. These can be further embellished with beads and stitching. In the afternoon we will put together the different elements and hand stitch them into charms, keyrings or brooches. Suitable for all levels of experience, the workshop includes all materials, plus tea, coffee and biscuits.
