Machine embroidery - make a beautiful sparkly bowl using dissolvable fabric! Would you like to try your hand at a simple machine embroidery project? This is perfect for beginners, or those with some experience of machine (or "free motion") embroidery, who would like to try out a simple, but stunning, project using dissolvable embroidery stabiliser. Using sheets of wash-away stabiliser to stitch into, we will embroider over all sorts of different sparkly materials such as angelina fibres, metal gilding flakes, sparkly threads and small pieces of organza. The sparkly fibres are then "trapped" between the dissolvable fabric and held together by stitching a simple pattern. Then, let the magic happen, when you dissolve away the stabiliser to reveal empty spaces, creating an open, lacy effect, which looks absolutely gorgeous! Finally, I'll show you how to use a mold to shape your piece into a small, decorative bowl. The creative possibilities are endless and they make such pretty, decorative items. Once you know how to make them, they can be quite addictive and make lovely little presents. You could also add on extra beads and embellishments if you wanted to continue the project at home. These are so fun to make! You will need to bring your sewing machine with embroidery (or darning) foot attached, plus some thread to use, but all other materials are included, plus tea, coffee and biscuits.
