Print and Stitch Autumnal Landscapes Printing and Machine Embroidery Be inspired by the colours and shapes of the Autumn landscape, to join me in creating some beautiful, collaged fabric pictures. Running for three consecutive Wednesday mornings, this lovely course will incorporate printing, collage and machine embroidery and is suitable for all those with basic experience (note: you could use hand stitching if you prefer). We will begin by spending a session making your own unique printed and marked fabric, using natural materials where possible, to create some gorgeous background pieces which suggest the colours and textures of the landscape. There's nothing quite like fabric you have printed and marked yourself to give interest to your work and make it have the real "wow!" factor. The next session will be spent selecting, arranging and placing the fabric you have printed, to build up some gorgeous landscape backgrounds. We will also integrate all sorts of other interesting textures and fabrics to give even greater depth to your work. I will show you techniques for placing and collaging fabric and we'll look at how to easily make your piece into a series of smaller works, suitable for card making. Finally, we'll add stitching to really bring your pieces to life. The choice is yours, whether you wish to use machine embroidery (in which case, you will need to bring your sewing machine with embroidery foot attached, to the final session), or if you would prefer to hand stitch. Either technique will work beautifully and I will support you in developing your pieces. We will also discuss ways to frame your work to best effect. Join me for three relaxing weeks, to make one or more, beautiful Autumnal landscapes.
