Join me on this exclusive workshop and let me show you the fun you can have using a heat press! We'll begin by painting heat transfer paint onto paper, which will be used to transfer the dye onto fabrics using the heat press. This creates the most amazing backgrounds, which are beautiful to embroider into. Experiment with creating paper "masks" by cutting out different shapes, to block off areas of print and make interesting patterns and designs. You can also try out using other found materials such as household items or threads, which can give some very interesting results. In addition, we can create our own painted motifs or lettering and print them onto fabric backgrounds. We'll also try out natural materials such as leaves and feathers to build up colourful layers. These can give the most detailed prints in a whole range of colours, which are gorgeous to stitch into. Mix and match techniques to make your own unique prints in this fun and experimental workshop. There are many wonderful effects to be made and the results are stunning, with infinite variations, depending on how you paint and print your paper. The possibilities are endless! Paint and some materials provided, but you will need to bring some of your own pieces of synthetic fabric (e.g. white acrylic felt, lutrador, polyester fabrics) to print on to.
