THE TREE OF LIFE NOTE: THURSDAYS ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED, BUT I CAN ADD YOU TO THE WAITING LIST. I CURRENTLY HAVE ONE PLACE AVAILABLE FOR MY FRIDAY GROUP. Would you like the creative stimulation of a regular monthly workshop and one to one guided help, to give you support and encouragement for your projects? Plus the friendship of a small group and my ongoing one to one tuition to help you stay motivated? For 2025, we'll be taking the “Tree of Life” as our theme over the year, as we delve into the world of trees as a source of inspiration. For example, we’ll consider bark and surface texture and look at the shapes and patterns of trees, roots, leaves, nuts and berries. We’ll think about the broader theme of the “Tree of Life” and how a tree can be a living ecosystem in itself, supporting a whole range of different creatures, fungi and insects. We’ll experiment with natural dyes and eco printing using leaves, bark and natural materials which come from trees. We’ll also think about the seasons and the changing nature of a tree and it’s foliage throughout Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. You will learn a range of skills through out the year, in a series of taught workshops and will make four specific projects, such as a textile vessel, a scroll, a wall hanging or picture and a lampshade. You will be supported in developing your own ideas, with one to one advice and guidance, plus group discussions to consider design and technique. Examples of taught technique workshops include hand embroidery (or machine embroidery if you prefer) and fabric manipulation, printing and marking fabric, eco printing and natural dyes, techniques for appliqué and fabric collage. Experimentation and play is encouraged! The group is suitable for all levels of experience, from beginners to those who have been stitching for years. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to have a go! The year will include: - 12 monthly meetings which will be a combination of formally taught workshops and sessions to discuss and work on your individual projects. - A group field trip to a local place of interest. - The chance to exhibit your work at the end of the year. - 10% discount on any further workshops booked with me during 2025. - Materials for the taught techniques workshops, plus tea, coffee and biscuits. £50 deposit and x4 instalments of £175 due Jan, April, July & Oct. Terms and Conditions

The full fee must be made upon booking to secure your place. If you are unable to attend the workshop and it’s more than 3 weeks in advance of the start date, then I will send a refund to the original payment source. If cancellation is within 3 weeks of your workshop, I am unable to offer a refund unless I can fill your space, or the course is cancelled. Refreshments will be provided free of charge (tea, coffee and biscuits). Most materials are usually provided free of charge (unless otherwise stated), but any additional requirements will emailed to you in advance of the course.
