Mixed Media Charms and Brooches A collaborative workshop with Textile Artist Jane Baskerville Join Esther and Jane in a fun and fabulous workshop, experimenting with mixed media to make a range of beautiful and unusual beads, brooches and charms. Try your hand at a variety of different techniques, with TWO experienced tutors each bringing their unique take on mixed media! Try "tinkering with Tyvek" in the morning with Jane, as she teaches you to paint, manipulate and heat distress Tyvek fabric to make some gorgeous beads. Build up layers of interesting papers (such as old music score sheets and painted Tyvek), which you will roll together and then alter using heat. Wrap with wires and embellish with more beads, to create some stunning effects. Then let Esther show you the secrets of foiling onto fabric, to make some "wow!" factor charms and bases for your brooches. Learn how to make stencils for fabric shapes, which can be enhanced with gold, silver or coloured metallic foil with amazing results. These can be further embellished with beads and stitching. In the afternoon we will put together the different elements and hand stitch them into charms, keyrings or brooches. Suitable for all levels of experience, materials, plus tea, coffee and biscuits are included. Join us for this fun and unusual workshop in the bright and spacious venue of the Glebelands Centre, Ferring (West Worthing).
